Day 1

Hello All,

Today was day 1 of our experience in China. We all had no idea what to expect, but so far it has been a trip to remember!

We started the day with Official Training in the 2008 Paralympic Pool… The best part is arriving in the morning at the Olympic village, giving us shivers as we are fighting for the next Games! It’s a beautiful facility and the stage is epic.

After 2 training sessions to get the feeling of “plane” out of our bodies we went on a trek to the “Silk Market” which was so fun! All of us were bargaining and attempting to get the best price possible…. If you make an offer and they don’t accept ALWAYS walk out of the store, they’ll will come right after you screaming “ok ok I will give you this price!!” First 2 things I learned in China today, be a tough cookie when it comes to spending money and how to say thank you!

More to come tomorrow, with visits to the Water Cube and the rest of the 2008 Olympic Village. Getting excited!!

Much Love,

C
