The Countdown!

Day 166

20 days until #TO2015

WOW!! How the time has flown!!! Today marks 20 Days until we compete at the Pan Am Games in Toronto! Recently, the buzz surrounding the Games has been incredible. We have heard so many positive things about the ‘New and Improved’ Sport Centre as well as amazing things about the people who are making it all happen. Canada has a fantastic team behind us; whether its volunteers, organizers, athletes, coaches, support staff….. Let’s just say, we have been blessed!

Training has been going pretty well! This week we did some taper, meaning that our intensity has not decreased, but the amount of volume has. These last couple of days our main focus has been doing our routines on demand. We have done the work….. which is an understatement….. and now we are ready to focus on the task at hand: Doing one AMAZING swim!!! We are pus10456262_10202861449651048_3185886796029264398_nhing each other to the limit and with that we are starting to trust that WE are ONE TEAM, ready to compete at these Games. I am so proud to be a Canadian Athlete and I can’t wait to share this moment with our friends and family on home soil. This is going to be a BIG stepping stone to our Olympic Journey. As the TO2015 Chef de Mission, Curt Harnett, would say: “The road to Rio passes through Toronto.”

One last note, each day on our 50 day countdown to the Games we read a note… It can be a quote, athletes words, or an inspiring message…. Today’s was “Individually you are a drop of water, but together you are an ocean”
